Christine and Joe Armstrong extend a warm welcome to the four star, Silver Award B&B, East Byermoor. Located just minutes from the city centre of Newcastle, in glorious rolling countryside, East Byermoor is a beautiful 17th century stone farmhouse surrounded by one and a half acres of gardens and meadows. Bronze Award Winner in the prestigious North East England Tourism Awards 2008.
The historic city of Newcastle is a hotspot for both business and leisure, with fantastic shopping, festivals, theatre, fine dining and nightlife. Newcastle/Gateshead Quays and Sports Stadium, Durham Cathedral, Hadrian's Wall, the beautiful Northumberland coast, Holy Island, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick Castles, National Trust Properties and Gardens, Beamish Museum, and the Scottish Borders are all within easy reach.
East Byermoor is a charming period farmhouse with enormous character. It was once part of the Gibside Estate belonging to the Bowes-Lyon family. Now it is beautifully appointed with every comfort you could wish for and boasts on-site Tea Rooms. Christine and Joe have five delightful guest rooms, all with en-suite and delightful views.
Each comfortable room has been tastefully decorated, and comes complete with a hospitality tray, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV with Freeview, hairdryer, shaver sockets, radio alarm clock, and wireless free internet access.
The Byermoor room is a charming double with an English country garden theme. Gibside is a spacious twin room, lovingly decorated in pastel tones. Beamish is a luxurious double room with a south facing aspect, and a spacious en-suite bathroom. The Garden room is a comfortable twin on the ground floor, particularly suitable for wheelchair access or those with limited mobility.
The Fellside room is a lovely beamed double, decorated in tones of cornflower blue and soft rose pink, with glorious views of the garden.
Naturally a fantastic full English breakfast is included in the price of the room. Alternatively choose a breakfast of fresh fruit compote with natural yogurt, scrambled eggs from local free-range hens, with salmon served on whole-wheat toast, croissants accompanied by home made preserves or honey produced by our own Byermoor Bees, served with fresh tea or coffee, served to you in our delightful Garden/Dining Room where you can enjoy uninterrupted views over the Derwent Valley.
East Byermoor is non-smoking throughout, and as an additional extra, offers guests a range of relaxing holistic therapies to try during their stay.
